House Renovations

House Refurbishment, 22 January 2017 - 15 June 2018

I can imagine that every person, immediately upon entering their first ‘old’ home, charges in and starts eagerly ripping off wallpaper and fussing around all other details to tidy, sort, and re-build. But then the moment of realisation inevitably hits, ‘Oh shit, this is actually going to take ages…’ Needless to say, we were much the same; our house renovation story is (nearly) complete, but it’s taken a long time to get there.

I can now - happily - share some success stories and lessons learnt from our process of refurbishing our home - a 1905, locally listed mid-terrace two-up two-down in Sevenoaks. These are told as ‘Success Stories’ - various blog posts documenting different aspects of the work we’ve undertaken.

Our house in Sevenoaks, a few weeks before we collected the keys. The ‘delightful’ statue in the front made one of the first trips to the dump.
